Mary and I decided to go to the USA in January 08. I have had an interest in the USA for some time due to participating in several different web forums, where members are predominantly US based. The main forum being ForumForums http://www.forumsforums.com. After much consideration the decision was made that we would fly into LA, travel the Californian coast to San Francisco, across to Yosemite then to the Grand Canyon, Texas, the Great Lakes area, Washington DC area, then fly back to San Diego before departing to come home from LA.
I look forward to sharing my experiences with anyone that is interested. As we are not leaving till the end of August there will not be much added to the blog for a while.
At this point in time we have booked air flights return to LA and a flight from Philadelphia to San Diego. We have organised a hire car, a Chevrolet Equinox, to pick up in LA and drop off in Philadelphia. We have also organised a Chevrolet Aveo to pick up in San Diego and drop off in LA for our final leg. As Irish as it may seem we have found the cheapest hire car deals through a company called Nova who are based in Ireland.
